"Crochet was hard. I felt so clumsy, and Rocky kept informing me that my “tension” was off, because that was something that he could just tell. The worst part was that I, after practicing a bit to get the feel for it, was making a chain.
A chain. In truth, there was more to why I had been so fidgety before, and why I’d encouraged him to spend his time on Wikipedia. A few days ago, we’d been reminiscing about our first time meeting, and a short while into that we’d hit the golden question, the one that had bothered me for so long before I discovered the truth: why is a schoolteacher in space?"
Grace, while trying to learn a craft to pass the time on the way to Erid, finally tells Rocky how he ended up on the Hail Mary.
