Summary
Something that was unexpected and will need some adjusting to as well is Techno's pregnancy. The two of them have been friends for almost a decade and a half now, and Sally couldn't have ever predicted this series of events. The only thing that doesn't make her feel as bad about it is the fact that Wilbur, Techno's literal twin brother, was also surprised by his brother's decision to keep the child.

Summary
He can hear the noise better now. It sounds kinda like a cry. Maybe an animal got stuck somewhere or hurt and didn't know what to do. Phil walks to the barn and then to where he stores hay, because it seems like the noise is coming from there.
With a lantern held up to illuminate the whole room, Phil scans every corner until his gaze stops on one of them. Coming closer, he can better make out a form of the person, desperately trying to stay hidden. Then the two of them make eye contact. Phil looks into wide horrified eyes, glossy with panic and what else.

Instantly he turns in the direction of the voice and can't stop a smile coming onto his face, when he spots its owner. Skateboard is skating towards him, excitedly waving his arm, while a radiant smile graces his face. Boombox raises his hand to wave back, but his attention gets caught by unusual splotches of blue and orange in his friend's usual red palette.
Is that- is that Coil, who has his arms wrapped around Skate's torso? How did Skate even manage to get the kid onto the board with him?

Summary
"Mom! Look!" Techno runs up and shows the woman the picture he drew, but instead of looking over, she just grabs her bag and heads towards the front door. The boy's outstretched arms fall to his sides, when he hears the door open and close.
His mom must have been in a hurry, she's just busy with something. Maybe they've got a job meeting late in the evening, that must be it, she's had those before. He'll just show her another time.

Though with how the sickness, no doubt caused by the damn rainstorms, is weighting down on his ability to move, he can't help but fear that his twin will leave him behind. Vex will do fine without him, but Vax won't be able to continue on his own.
So, he tries pushing on, brushing away his sister's jabs and then concerns. It works... at least for some time.

Summary

Techno takes things into his own hands and gets this child some comfort, but things get more complicated when he learns that Tommy has disowned himself from his pack.
His pack, it so happens, is still looking for him.

It was against Techno’s nature, as a siamese fighting mer, to let others so close. Phil was the exception, as the mer who saved his life, but there wasn’t supposed to be anyone else.
And then, one day, Phil came home with a tiny bundle of teeth and claws, and Techno's dormant soul-scales finally lit up. The intricate white all along his tale and going up his sides; swirls and dots all coming together in a delicately perfected pattern, glowed like the sea-lanterns that lit their cave. A rush of emotion rolled through him, and he couldn't help but tip closer, peeking at the little hurting mer in Phil's arms.
"Techno," Phil said softly, and the mer shifted, blinking two huge bright blue eyes at him, "meet Tommy."
