Summary
In the vast expanse of space, the Scortridan Empire (a technologically advanced, yet nature-revering civilization) encounters a Quixle (their enemy empire) research vessel conducting unethical experiments on human captives. Among them is Winslow Salvage, a timid yet resilient human raised among the stars, who clings to hope despite weeks of torment. When Sx Lorkoth, the formidable yet enigmatic Scortridan leader, storms the ship with his warriors, he discovers Winslow in a state of broken defiance that inexplicably catches his attention.
From there on, he won't leave the human's side. And, the human won't leave his. Sx. Lorkoth has never had a mate, his duties don't align with it. But... this scrawny human could be the exception.
