Eighteen months after Vecna is finally gone, Hawkins is supposed to be safe, but Will is still trapped in his own head. He has insomnia, and he ends up getting addicted to sleeping pills again just to get some rest.
Mike decides he is absolutely not losing his best friend, so he steps in to help Will.
Spending time together forces them to face the fact that they are completely in love with each other. Neither of them says it out loud yet, but they don't really have to—it's in everything they do as they fight the bad memories together.

Summary
“We used to tell each other everything,” Mike says, as tears form in his eyes. He wants to hide them, he doesn’t want to burden Will, but he has to keep going. Instead of pushing them down, this time he lets them go.
“I have to… tell you something too,” Mike says as a tear tumbles out of his left eye and onto the pillow.
And here it is. He’s right at the precipice of it. He flashes to that day on the cliff edge. This feels like that – a point of no return. A decision that can’t be undone. He tries to remind himself that Will did it, in front of half of Hawkins for Christ’s sake, Mike should be able to tell Will. Will, who is holding his hand.
“I-“ Mike falters, “I don’t know how to say this.”
OR
What if Mike and Will had one night to sort out their feelings before the battle in the Upside Down.

"Is- Is it yours?" Will can't help but ask.
"No clue," Mike brings a hand up and traces his fingers over the dried blood, hisses when he gets close to his hairline.
Will moves like on autopilot. He crosses the small bathroom in what feels like a split second, and grabs onto Mike's wrist.
"Don't," he blurts. Pulls his hand away like he got zapped with electricity. "D- Don't.. touch it. Need to clean it."
"Right. Yeah," Mike mutters. His face does something weird, but it's gone as quickly as it comes. "Can.. Can you do it for me?"

Summary
The summer before college, Mike and Will move into a tiny studio together, ready to start their next chapter — only to discover their across-the-street neighbor has a very public, very active sex life. Their weekly “observations for research purposes” are all jokes and commentary…until one night the neighbor brings home a man, and something in Mike shifts. Suddenly the bit isn’t so funny, the spiral is very real, the lines start to get a little too blurry, and the curiosity feels a bit too personal.
