Summary
She is painting, the day Korn storms in. Birds in black and white. In her mind, they are full of colour – sweeping purples, dots of blue and humming orange. It is a bad day – a day when her brain is slow, when her hands feel atrophied and her legs are too numb to feel at all.
or, namphueng's top survival tips, plus her thoughts on tapping into ancestral rage.

She didn't tell the boys when her parents died. Partly because they never talked about family before and she wasn't sure she could start now, and partly because they were already chasing eachother across the continent.

Summary
She bought that rug recently and blood is hard to remove so she doesn't kill them in that moment, but she thinks about it. Admittedly for perhaps too long - Naruto has started fidgeting and Sasuke mistakes her gaze for a staring contest, loses said staring contest and now appears to be trying to figure out how to use the Sharingan to win.

Summary
She wakes up in a massacre, drool and blood dripping down the front of her shirt as she stares emptily at the two dead bodies before her.
A part of her mind is screaming, howling at the memories of countless deaths carved into it and the burning betrayal of his brother.
The other is sobbing hysterically at the memory of hands that took and took until there wasn’t anything left to take.
-
It takes her months to come to terms with the fact that she’s not dead but alive and trapped in the body of a six-year-old little boy whose brother had massacred his entire family. She feels disconnected from the world she's awaken in, where children are being taught to kill and she's living in the same house the boy saw his family be slaughtered in and no one seems to care.
Being reborn isn't fun.
Being reborn as Uchiha Sasuke is a mess and a half.

( Gai ends up with five new outfits, most in tasteful shades of black and brown. Akane, perhaps sensing his desperation, allows him to get one green robe but refuses to let him keep his legwarmers. )
