Paul and Ted were seen as rivals, being the main spotlight in their appropriate teams when it came to the news. Each article always detailing how one was jealous over other or how they always winded up facing each other to compete for whatever trophy or award the tournament of magic brawls had in store for them. That was until it came out that Ted didn't have any magic. The media was in a frenzy and things didn't die down when it was eventually found out that Ted went missing soon after this reveal. People thought Paul would be glad his supposed long hated rival was gone, missing or maybe dead but the public had never known that they were once best friends that had just grown distant.
