Gil is still learning the many undercurrents of the Guard, but she already knows the Icefalcon has a bit of a reputation for being popular with people of both genders, and generally always being open to a quick fuck with no strings attached. So she isn't exactly surprised when he turns to her and says: "They have the right idea, keeping warm on a night like this. Do you want to share blankets tonight?"
She has mostly seen people approach him before, not this way around. He's as matter-of-fact about it as she expected him to be. Summary
There is an art to being a truly excellent liar. It requires more than pretense – at any given moment, it means truly living in the false identity one has constructed, while a more hidden part of the self lies below, silent and watchful. It is why Wangji is terrible at it, for all his self-control. He can offer the world a blank mask, but he has never been anyone but himself.
Lan Xichen, one the other hand, has been careful and meticulous in his crafting of the face he shows to the world. Tonight he is the Lan clan leader, reluctantly loyal, as hateful and yet cowed by Wen Ruohan as the rest of them. He is very good at becoming this version of himself. If he was not, if any of the Wen ever had an inkling of that other, hidden version of Lan Xichen, he would be dead by now. -

“Why are you the way you are?” Law asks, gesturing to Zoro and Luffy in their entirety. “You look pathetic.”
“Luffy fell in,” Zoro shrugs. Law thinks he may be the only person in the world who can convey both “Luffy fell in, he’s such a fucking idiot” and “Luffy fell in, what else was I supposed to do but follow?” in one line.
“I’m very sorry.” Luffy reaches up and pats Zoro on the chest.
“You’re a terrible liar.”
Luffy wheezes a short laugh. “I like swimming with Zoro.”
“Shut up, you little shit.”
“How about you both shut up and let me work,” Law grouses.

Nami is the first one to notice something is amiss, but then given her current competition is Luffy and Zoro, it isn’t surprising.
“Do you love Zoro?” She doesn’t bother beating around the bush. Doesn’t bother with easing into it with any metaphors or small talk, one of which Luffy would have little interest in, and the other of which would go over his head.
He stares back at her, and for a split second she feels like she’s gone and shoved her foot right into her mouth. Something flickers through his eyes, but she doesn’t have time to fully study it before his features shutter again.
Luffy tilts his head. “Of course I do.”
Part of her wants to cheer, shout aha! because she knew it, dammit, but then he proceeds to barrel right over that.
“I love you too,” to which she freezes, and then: “And Usopp, and Sanji, I guess. You guys are my friends.”
She wants to scream.
