They’re looking at him, brows furrowed and hands folded, waiting for a response. What can Bart even say? He can’t just casually tell them, “Hey, sorry, I grew up in an apocalyptic nightmare where eating every day was never a guarantee so stockpiling food is basically an involuntary survival instinct at this point and old habits die hard, amiright?” Yeah, no. That wouldn’t go over well.
(or; bart adjusts to living in the past while dealing with the trauma that followed him from the future.)

Summary
It started on Bart's birthday.
He hadn't told anyone it was coming up. Really, he had more important things to be doing, stopping the apocalypse and all. But he was benched after he'd broken his leg on a mission.
He'd never made a cake before. He'd... never cooked anything before, really.
Bart did have the Internet though. (Again, totally crash. Nothing like that existed in the future. It was so useful!) He did a little research, watched a couple videos on two-times speed, and Bart was pretty confident he could make an awesome cake. He had all the stuff, so now he just had to actually do it. Easy enough.
Except Bart found himself standing in the hallway staring into the empty kitchen, unable to move.

He had told them that he was a time tourist, which was a stupid lie, even for him. As amazing as it was that the team had bought it, Bart couldn't help but regret that choice at times. Wishing he could let out the cry building deep inside of him and let them hold him. He'd do damn near anything to sink into Jaime's arms and sob himself to sleep. Hell, he'd take almost anyone on the team, anyone at all.

Bart has a panic attack and the others (mainly dick) help out

Jason sighed, but it wasn’t exasperated, just resigned. "Okay. I don’t hate you."
Tim shut his eyes for a second, focusing on the words. His fingers clenched into the fabric of his jeans.
"I don’t hate you," Jason repeated. "Bruce doesn’t hate you. Dick doesn’t hate you. Alfred would probably smack you upside the head for even thinking it."
Tim huffed out something like a laugh, weak and uneven.
