Summary
“Is it so unthinkable of a suggestion? Am I that off-putting, that horrible that you cannot even imagine pretending to date me?"
"No, Fran. It's not that. It's—" Michaela stopped, shaking her head and sighing. "You deserve more than that. More than what I'm looking to offer."
"I want nothing more!" Francesca spoke too emphatically, drawing attention to herself. "It's seamless. It solves both of our problems. You get a steady, unobjectionable partner and in turn, the estate. I get a reprieve from my family's haranguing, as they'll see I'm happily coupled. Nobody needs to know that our partnership is platonic masquerading as something more."
OR
Michaela can’t inherit the Stirling Estate unless she reforms her womanizing ways and Francesca can’t get her family to cease their incessant badgering about her finding true love. Realizing they both stand to gain from a relationship, they start up a fake one. Inconveniently for their plan, they’re already in love.

Summary
Mother Miranda has decided that the most reclusive of her Lords, Donna Beneviento, is not performing her duties to the standard required. An arranged marriage between the dollmaker and a candidate chosen from the village is the priestess’s solution, where increased wellbeing and productivity might hopefully follow the bonds of matrimony.
Perhaps it’s a good solution, but you can’t bring yourself to believe so. Not when the chosen candidate ends up being yourself. And still, this arranged marriage between you and Lady Beneviento is exactly that. Arranged.
It’s not like there’s any love between the two of you.

Summary
Rumors of a fifth lord have always passed throughout the village ever since Mother Miranda took charge. Though lack of evidence indicates that maybe a fifth lord wasn’t real after all.
An incident at the border leads to you finally being revealed to the other lords. The threat of some outsiders leads Mother Miranda to bring the lords closer together. You have been told to stay with Alcina and Donna at the castle until this whole mess is resolved.
Aka, you fall for the lord in all black.
