Rocky and Grace are on their way to Erid. Grace has a nightmare and Rocky tries to wake him up.
He pretends he's fine but Rocky of course sees through his bs and tells Grace to talk about bis dream.
But his friend is scared. What is he scared of? That Rocky is gonna hate him once he knows the true story of how he ended up on the Hail Mary. He isn't the hero he thought he was. He was selfish and a coward.Or: Grace is distraught and Rocky tells his leaky space blob that he won't ever stop loving him.

Summary
The ship arrives several years off schedule. Among the twenty four sent into the stars to find the star killer's predator, two return. Battered, broken, and one not even an Eridian. The sole survivor of the Eridian team, the engineer named “Rocky” arrives on the planet in a flurry of worry that not even his mates thrum can assuage. They insist the fellow savior of Erid is starving and unwell, and that he needs help, or he shall perish.
Rocky pleads, and so the Eridians get to work.
