Huntr/x is meant to hunt demons, to protect humanity, to do whatever they have in hand to make sure to lose as little human souls as possible.
The three hunters knew this since their trainer days when they were just teenagers.
So when the flames of chaos are so close, when the world is burning with the laugh of Gwi-ma next to their ears, Zoey just can’t listen to Mira’s yells, nor care for Rumi's tears and shining patterns.
Because Rumi's soul is worth saving, just as much as Mira’s life, that’s a mere fact.
Honestly Zoey is just doing her work. The tears on her own face are irrelevant, the fire will vanish them anyways.
Or
Zoey decides to take Rumi’s place and sacrifice for both of her girls, even if it means to be burning in hell with the rest of the demons.

And she is their leader, they rightfully deserve the best version she can be of herself.
Yet... a thing Rumi didn't notice in time is that once there is a hint... Rumi gets very awful at pretending otherwise.
Or Rumi tries to hide her weakness for bears, cuddly soft Teddy Bears while she does her best to be her perfect leader self that never crumbles, she fails miserably and everybody finds out, including Celine, Mira and Zoey, the whole world and well... herself.

Summary
Rumi is the light in the lives of both Zoey and Mira. She is their little warrior, the child they fought hard to get and even though she can't speak, she loves everyone deeply. The three of them are slowly but surely learning how to be a family, and for a long time, that seemed enough. But one day, the three of them met... Rumi. A lonely but talented street artist who turns Zoey's and Mira's world upside down. In one short but magical meeting, this weird Rumi managed to give the two women something they didn't know how to obtain: their sweet child voice back.
After that, throughout many seasons and brief encounters, the enigmatic Rumi keeps meeting Zoey and Mira in musical situations. The three of them start to slowly build a trusting relationship which after a long time, turns into love. However, Rumi is a very troubled soul and her life has been filled with so much pain and disappointment that she cannot allow herself to simply enjoy life and discover who she really is beyond what the cruel world has made her.
This is a story of music, trust and hurt, in which everyone will discover the simple ways in which one can love a Rumi.

Summary
Severance is a strange thing. You enter a room, black out, and once you’re conscious again, eight hours have passed without your knowledge.
It’s something you eventually learn to get acquainted with, the dissociation— Mira and Zoey sure have. They say being severed is supposed to make you happier without the burden of the outside world weighing down on you as you work, but neither of them is sure if it’s made them any happier or not.
Things only get more complicated when their mysterious new department head, Rumi, shows up at the office. Because why does she feel so familiar? And why, whenever she looks at them, her expression is so… sad?
Or a Severance fusion AU where Rumi’s demon side is revealed, and framed as an imposter demon until she can get rid of her patterns. While she tries to convince them otherwise, she visits versions of Mira and Zoey that don’t know any of that.

Rumi’s tone freezes her in place. It’s gentle but cautious and peeking at her face—her expression hesitant, if not worried—confirms Zoey’s fears; whatever Rumi wants to talk about, Zoey isn’t going to like it.
‘Sure! Absolutely! I’m kinda in the middle of something—do you wanna talk about it now or later? Later is probably better for me,’ she muses with a wide grin that hopefully hides the way her heart feels like Rumi has thrown it onto a roller coaster without any of the safety checks or bumpers. Everything is climbing, climbing. Zoey is definitely not sweating. ‘Oh, later is actually - it might have to be, like, later later because I promised Mira that we would go on a shop run—’
‘No, you didn’t.’ Mira doesn’t even bother to look up from her phone when she commits her foul treachery. ‘When I asked you to come, you said you’d—and I quote—vivisect me if I made you leave the house today.’
