Summary

MK began to wash the shampoo out of Red Son’s hair, using one hand to pour water out of the basin and the other to block the soap from slipping down into his eyes. It was a small act, but one that showed a careful attention to detail that MK rarely showed to anything at all. It was the sort of sweet gesture that told Red Son he was cared for by MK, that he was loved.
“Oh.” He whispered. “I’m hallucinating you.”
(Or, MK takes care of a very sick Red Son and tries to convince him that he’s not a hallucination. Canon compliant up to Season 3)

Summary
A rewrite of Varian's turn to villainy. Despite being the son of the leader of Old Corona, he'd always been the black sheep of the village, and making friends was hard until Rapunzel, Eugene, Cassandra, and Lance came along. With the villagers believing he's an evil, doom-bringing wizard since birth because his mother was an alchemist, with things only escalating when Varian took up alchemy himself. However, Varian still clung to the belief that if he just helped them with his alchemy and proved himself, they'll like him.
Then he loses his father and is accused of deliberately encasing Quirin by the villagers and of attacking Rapunzel during the snowstorm for reasons unknown to him, forcing him to flee his home. However, he still tries to justify and rationalize why Rapunzel, Eugene, Cassandra, and Lance haven't checked on him yet, despite his belief that he'll be loved by Old Corona if he proved himself being slowly crushed. Until finally, he snaps. So, while freeing Quirin's still his biggest priority, Corona will pay.Also, most dialogue here belongs to the actual show and thank you Smarty Pants for the inspiration to rewrite through his Varian and the Seven Kingdoms video! Summary
Eugene burst in, panting, “We need to have a brother to brother conversation!”
Varian died a little inside. The last ‘brother to brother’ conversation they had was about why holding hands doesn’t lead to babies and other ways to get them.
Eugene closed the door, waltzing in. Like usual, he kept trying to touch the various experiments Varian had going, leading to his hand being slapped away about ten times before he spoke, “Did you see your mail?”
“No actually, I don’t read it,” Varian sighed, choosing to go back to his experiment. Now this was interesting, trying to see if he could use cobalt in the next firework show—
Eugene thrust five envelopes into his hand, each with a different nations crest on it, “Can you start reading your mail now?”
Varian groaned, but obliged, tearing each of them open. What a mistake.
They were all letters about suitors wanting to court him.
Now he was really going to be sick.
…
Varian spends an evening desperately trying to avoid being courted.
Instead, he falls for the first person who asks him about cobalt.
