    Andy steels herself, "It's worked plenty before."

    "Oh." Emily's eyes do brighten then, playful in a way the office works hard to stop. "I'm sure it has."

    "That bordered on being mean."

    "Then it did its job." Emily steps back and retrieves Andy's brief from the table. "I don't make a habit of seeing journalists, or seeing journalists currently covering a lawsuit with my boss."

    Andy rocks on the front of her heels, "Do you see anyone?"

    Emily arches an eyebrow, trying and failing to seem unamused. "Sometimes."
