On the trip back to Erid; Grace and Rocky come across a sub that shouldn’t be there with a man who know’s he shouldn’t be alive. Simon is REALLY grateful to be saved at first but what happens when you live beyond what should have killed you?

Ryland Grace had many bad experiences with other humans.
Simon has also had many bad experiences with other humans.
When coming in contact with a human that for the first time is nice to him, Simon wants to cling onto that for dear life.
Grace on the other hand doesn’t know if he can learn to befriend another human again after his last poor experience on Earth.

Ryland Grace is an asexual alpha. Simon, the new and only other human on Erid, happens to be an omega. Grace is terrified that Simon might eventually need him as an alpha... How mortifying! Grace could never satisfy his needs as an omega! So Grace is desperately trying to convey that he is NOT a good potential mate or an alpha in general (he always thought he was a good-for-nothing alpha). He just has to be his usual painfully awkward self and everything will be okay!
But... Grace being caring, respectful, kind and selfless by nature does nothing to help his case as Simon naturally warms up to him with time. Somehow, they will have to figure it out.
Or, Simon getting the care and affection he desperately needs from an impossibly gentle alpha (while Grace struggles with his complicated feelings and identity).

“ I nee…d…to go h-h-ome…” The man leaned in closer, and Simon almost couldn’t handle those eyes. “I donn’t wanna hurt… youuuoo but I’m sorry I…need to find…” His balance was off, as if he didn’t notice that he was missing a leg.
Simon swallowed. “...Your arm is bleeding.”
