    That was it for him; for the awful, awful person he'd always been. Though, that Spoke was different from the one who'd taken his sword into his hand to clash with Minute again. That was the other Spoke, whom they must have cared about to the point of sticking by his side for so long. That Spoke who didn't really exist, yet was so distinctingly different, that his existence wasn't really deniable.
     
    There'd always been two of them: that Spoke, and this Spoke. Both the same, both separate.

    "Do you want to be powerful Spoke?" Jamato is saying, and he should probably tune into this even if it is a little weird that Jamato is just letting Spoke have this after everything. After leaving him and taking away his exploits and no goodbye. After beating him into the ground and deciding that Spoke still has more bones left to break, more blood to shed, more tears to give.

    Spoke is cautious. He isn't stupid. Jamato probably has something, definitely does, but he won't know unless he listens.

    "If you want power, you'll have to give something up. Ash did. Wifies did. I did too."

    ...

    "What will you give up?"

    Or

    Spoke, the not-Maze, and decay. Mapicc and death and death and death. Both in a place where nothing is as it seems.
