Dashing the thought like a billhook to the skull of a child, Lethica’s hand shifts, dragging against the soft wool of his loose trousers until she finds the rounded edge of his knee and curls her fingers around it. Nothing more that her touch at his knee but — but she’s so warm.
Full of life, vivacious, with warm hot blood coursing through her veins and her skin and places he should never think of — and it bleeds into his trousers, into his skin, into the marrow and sinew and depth of his stolen soul. Though her touch is feather-light, it is far too hefty a weight to keep, full of each of his various sins.
Lust, greed, gluttony — he wants, he covets, he yearns.
