Burgess does not leave Dream alone in his prison. He takes him out. He sacrifices him upon an altar to pain and violation. Which creates the question. If Morpheus breaks down and begs, but has no voice and no one there to hear it, did he ever really break?

Hob rocks back, furrowing his brow and defies this.
“Begging your pardon, King of Dreams, but I’ll decide what I can or cannot do, thank you,” Hob chides, lifting his brow in soft warning.
Or the one where Hob steals yarn, fights an old (immortal) lady and accidentally messes everything up fantastically. (but in a good way). [And the author's frantic attempt to make better sense of the horrible mess of Season 2 Vol 2]

“Is that why you missed our meeting then? Some fucker had you in a cage?”
There’s a slight growl in Hobs voice as he has to speak his friend's fate aloud, he expects him to again be amused by Hobs anger but he simply looks away towards the window with no clear expression.
“…perhaps.” There’s no real intonation in his tone and Hob feels a brief stab of anxiety over what that could mean.
