Summary
Connor has attempted again. He was so close to the release of all the anger, of all the hatred, he could almost taste it. Someone though, decided they new what he wanted before he did. Evan. He was just like all the other therapists, convincing him that life was a gift you only got one of. Nobody seemed to understand that he didn't ask for this gift.
Evan found someone. Half dead in the park, the same person who had shoved him into a locker that morning. The same person Jared had called a future threat. The same person Evan was determined to help.

Summary

He spends several weeks trolling a website with a section called Suicide Partners after breaking his arm. He finds a potential match in someone else who is looking to make sure they actually pull the trigger this time (metaphorically speaking).
Three guesses whose message Evan responds to.

His whole body slumps, like he’s been spring-wired with anxiety just from speaking with Connor up until this point. Or maybe just from the day he’s had— the past few days he’s had. Connor doesn’t know, maybe he’s had a lot of bad days all in a row. Maybe his whole life has been a string of bad days.

Summary
When Evan is called into the principal's office, he just knows that it's about the letter. The letter that Connor took from him and completely misunderstood. So when he steps into the office and sees two adults who can be none other than Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, he knows he's done for.
But Evan's problems have really only just begun when the principal informs him that Connor attempted to kill himself and is now comatose in a hospital. Evan has to juggle a fake friendship, a growing relationship with the girl of his dreams and her parents, worry about a boy in a hospital bed potentially waking up and exposing all of his lies, and deal internally with what he's been struggling with since last summer but refuses to properly acknowledge.
And things only get worse when Connor wakes up. Or... maybe they're getting better?
Follow along as two dumb-asses, and a supporting cast I suppose, figure out how to navigate life and their feelings during their senior year of high school.
