Summary
“Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood”
Jack could faintly hear the beast crying out, as it stumbled into the circle. He vaguely recognised through the haze of the chant Ralph’s voice calling to him. He pushed the thought away; Ralph wasn’t anywhere near here; he was back at the shelters. He felt the throbbing of the circle surge, as the hunters stabbed at the beast, and he got pulled away from reality once more. He circled, energised as the beast entered the tribe of hunters. The pulse thrummed, pulling the boys along in its wake, compelling them to its will.
