Summary
"What do you think it is to be human?” Flins asks, slow and deliberate, fingers tracing the rim of his drink.
“To be human is to feel,” Illuga says, definitively. “To be human is to hurt, to bleed, to cry. And then wake up the next day and do it again. Wake up a thousand times and do it again, knowing that the pain doesn’t stop.”
Flins’ gaze is piercing. “Why?”
“Because if we can still feel pain, we can still feel joy.”
Illuga thinks he knows what it means to be human. He has a few things to learn.

Summary
Ten years after the World Blaze, the Parnassus successfully migrated to Omega Centauri, narrowly avoiding the destruction of Earth. The project’s young visionary, Kray Foresight, quickly took leadership, guiding the small colony into an uncertain but hopeful future, and the colonists honor the hundreds of Burnish who willingly gave their lives to bring them there. Twenty years into that future, Galo Thymos, the Governor’s young adopted son, finds himself adrift. Working as a terraformer and expected to follow in Kray’s footsteps, Galo pines for more adventure than the tiny, insulated colony can give him.
When he’s enlisted to help Lucia gather some data on the sealed interior of the Parnassus, he jumps at the chance, eager for a little excitement, but what he finds down there throws his narrow world into complete chaos. Now on the run with a myth brought to life, Galo is forced to face the reality of what happened twenty years ago and the truth about his own father, but, as he and Lio grow closer, he realizes Lio may be the adventure he’s been seeking all along.

"I knew when we met that we were gonna be friends.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah, really!” Galo nodded emphatically, a grin stretching across his face. “Not everyone can kick my ass as well as you can, y’know? You beat the hell outta me, so I knew right away that we had a connection.”
[PR disaster Galo Thymos accidentally implies on live TV that he's dating former terrorist Lio Fotia and inadvertently ends a riot. They keep up the sham to keep the peace, but does Lio even want to stay in Promepolis?]

Summary
“Remember if we see a cop, we’re going star gazing,” Lio replied.
“You better do the talking then, because I’m a terrible liar.”
Lio reached over and flicked Galo’s shoulder.
“It’s like buying condoms, if you’re not mature enough to lie to the cops, then you’re not mature enough to break the law,” Lio said.Lio and Galo make love in the backseat of a twenty-year old Toyota Corolla.
