   Summary

After Sokovia, S.H.I.E.L.D. decides the Avengers need six months away from the missions, the pressure, and the lives they’ve built around saving everyone else. For most of them, taking a break means going home. For Natasha Romanoff, there isn’t really a home to return to.

   So S.H.I.E.L.D. gives her one.

You’re an ordinary employee who thought you were being called in for a promotion, only to find yourself assigned to pretend to be Natasha’s girlfriend for the duration of her leave. You’re not an agent, a fighter, or anyone particularly remarkable. You’re just someone who can offer her a little bit of the life she’s never had: quiet mornings, shared meals, someone waiting at the end of the day.

It’s supposed to be temporary. A carefully arranged lie meant to keep the Black Widow from disappearing back into the life she knows.

But six months is a long time to pretend something feels like home.
