"Okay," he agrees, because it's the mature thing to do.
Lando smiles, the corner of his mouth twisting, and Oscar has the sudden clear notion that he's about to say something annoying—
"And maybe you should stop checking me out and focus on our intended target instead."
Oscar chokes on his own saliva. "What? I'm not—Uh…I was not…"
"Sure you weren't."Or where Oscar is a retired hacker until George comes with a proposition: robbing Lawrence Stoll.
It might be the only way to keep his business afloat, but it means allowing everything he left behind back into his life.
It also involves working with Lando, another hacker, who makes Oscar realize perhaps all of the things he has been running hard from are not things he can escape—nor wants to.

"Like… never," he uttered. He continued with the lie. But the driver's sharp gaze was looking through him; he realized how fast his heart was beating. “I don't know,” he corrected himself a moment later. "To be honest, I wasn’t aware that it was a panic attack.”
Or, Lando learns the hard way that love is supposed to feel quiet rather than overpowering.
