Summary
It's been three years since Mob destroyed Seasoning City and Serizawa Katsuya has moved on to a new job in the city.
Reigen, now alone again, begins to spiral. He soon falls back on bad habits, but after a brutal attack by an evil spirit leaves him torn between a dream world and reality, he realises he needs help. As his dreams bleed into his waking life, he must learn to open up, or risk losing everything, including his mind.
Unfortunately, that means letting Serizawa see the side of Reigen he thought he'd done rather well to hide.

Qifrey, who has been cautiously opening himself to this kind of physical contact in the past few months, has been surprised to discover that he likes it—being held, pressed, kept tight. It stokes the part of him that is terrified of being trapped, just enough to keep him from relaxing.

He'd been too comfortable. Qifrey almost laughed when it hit him: this entire predicament was supposed to be anything but reassuring, but somehow, the gentle pass of time had withered away the sharp edges of his suffering. Just like the tides would smooth over the rocks of the shore again and again until they became nothing but sand, he'd grown to expect the pain, until it wasn't as excruciating anymore. It was almost like having a reason for it was enough to soften the blow.
And it did. Stars, it did.
(Or, the Silverwood tree is growing again, but this time it won't go away. Luckily, Qifrey's family has no intention of ever letting him go.)

Summary
Two weeks after the disaster of a conference that was meant to be his academic victory run and the successful start of the rest of his life as a molecular biologist, Ryland Grace escapes to one of Washington’s state parks. Hiding away in his twin brother’s cabin, Ryland has to come to terms with the fact that the life he worked so hard for had slipped right through his fingers because his ego had been larger than his logical brain, and now he’s haunted by a community of scientists and online enthusiasts yearning to run what little is left of his dignity into the ground.
But as a hike, one fuelled mostly by spite because obviously he didn’t learn his lesson just yet, goes south, he’s forced to call the rangers for help. And because life hates him, the ranger who told him not to wander into the woods is the one to take his call.
Something about ranger Simon’s disapproving and definitely disappointed look cuts deeper than he anticipated.

Summary
Qifrey is free of The Curse™, but it leaves him with low vision. He adapts with a little help and some nifty new contraptions from his smart and awesome apprentices. He also finally gets to have good things, like way too much wine and the best friend he's longed after for ages.
Or: I write out my ideal post-canon for my beloved family. I am un-dooming them from the narrative because I'm too impatient for Shirahama to do so herself in 10 years. Characterization/plot leans sweeter and less tragic. I like my imaginative whimsy and queer joy!
