Summary
Things were going well. Really well actually. Weeks had passed since what Jayce had taken to calling ‘the champagne incident’ (Viktor on the other hand preferred the term ‘highlight of the social Calendar’) and barring the usual ebbs and flows that came with their daily lives, there hasn’t been any more courting mishaps.
They fit each other well, when other people weren’t meddling in their lives, and had relaxed into their own version of what people expected a relationship to be. Sure it didn’t fit the mould of traditional alpha omega couples, but it suited them just fine. Jayce had even managed to stop trying so hard to act the way he thought he should, instead just treating Viktor the same way he always had.

Summary
He’d seen Viktor through meltdowns before of course, but they were different when he was big. He was able to regulate better, wrapping himself tight in weighted blankets and sitting in the dark listening to his favourite records until he calmed down. It took him a while to start speaking in the hours after, but they’d worked out a non verbal communication system (Viktor always kept a notebook and pencil on him just in case), and other then that, Viktor was mostly his usual self following his meltdowns.
This, on the other hand, Jayce wasn’t prepared for.

They had never discussed exactly why Viktor sometimes became like this.
Jayce had done his research of course, as soon as Viktor had broached the subject he’d combed through every literary tome and first hand account he could find. The documented instances he could find were few and far between, but with both his reading, what Viktor had told him, and his own observations, he had learned enough.
He was a scientist after all, discovering new things based on incomplete information was what he did best.
Whenever Viktor got too stressed, or his pain flared up, or simply when he’d had a long day and needed a break for his brain, he would approach Jayce and shyly ask if he could be ‘small’.
Viktor regresses, Jayce is more then happy to take care of him
