Summary
“You’re staring,” Zoey teases, flicking sand at her.
“Can’t help it,” Rumi admits, leaning over to steal a kiss from Zoey’s lips, then turning to catch Mira’s hand to pull her in too. “You both look ridiculously hot in these swimsuits.”
Mira huffs a laugh against her shoulder. “Flattery won’t get you out of being dumped into the ocean.”
They end up in the waves just moments later. Zoey splashes them mercilessly until Mira retaliates with a surprisingly powerful wave of water that soaks everyone. Rumi dives under, comes up behind Zoey, and wraps her arms around her waist, lifting her just enough to make her squeal.
Laughter echoes over the water— hers and theirs. It always comes so easy with them.

Summary
The sword was much better kept than the rest of the shrine, with only a bit of moss and plant growth around it. The bronze of the hilt was shining brightly, the constellations etched into the blade clear and unmarred. The metal itself was almost iridescent, pinks and blues catching the dappled light filtering through the leaves as Mira tilted her head this way and that. It was, honestly, beautiful.
“I’m gonna take it,” Zoey said.
OR
Zoey and Mira find an ancient sword at an abandoned shrine in the middle of the woods. Surely there won’t be any consequences to them taking it—right?

Summary
“Why bring her to me?” She was not a savior, she was a monster. Every day she carried the broken pieces of stone birds into her temple and mended them with clay and twine. The few animals she kept have had their sight removed, yet they nuzzled into her hand all the same. Her garden flourished, because it could not see the cruelty of the face of the one who tended to it. The island had been pristine when she had found it. Alive. Thriving.
The Nereid only tilted her head, sea-weed dark hair sliding wetly across her shoulders and throat. “Her quest was to find you.”
“Find me?” She scoffed. “People find me for one reason only.”
“To kill you?” grinned Zoey. It was a feral thing, revealing rows of serrated teeth. The illusion of a beautiful woman suddenly replaced by something wild, something dangerous. How apt.
She shook her head morosely. “To die.”

The Greek Mythology AU where Rumi is Perseus, sent to slay Mira as Medusa, but Zoey, daughter of the ocean, is tired of tragedies, and manipulates fate just enough to get something entirely different. This is a tale of how three women find each other despite their destinies, and build a love strong enough to defy the gods. -

Summary
It’d be easier if she took her hoodie off, her inner voice reminded her petulantly, anything to get some cool air against her skin.
Rumi pushed the thought aside, it would be fine. She had been warm before, she could be warm again.
-Or-
Rumi has been warned repeatedly about the perils of wearing layers and warm clothing in the California heat. Too bad she doesn't listen.
