Jean Grey was in disbelief. Just a week ago, she was breathing for Peter Parker as he was lying in the hospital bed, unconscious. But now it's late 2015. The time before she met Spider-Man. Before her sister Sara was captured by Damage Control. Before the Avengers defeated Thanos. Before the Snap.
Jean felt a sudden urge to check something. She opened a search engine and typed Peter Parker's name into it.
It showed results. His Instagram page, his Facebook account. A photo of him and his aunt at the entrance ceremony to Midtown High.
Jean understood then that she had returned to a time before the spell.
She looked at the calendar again — it was December of 2015.
"...I'm not too late to apply for Midtown High, am I?"

Peter was tired of being the universe's punching bag. Couldn't the poor guy catch a break? After the events of Kindred, a nice calming patrol seems like a great idea. Nothing could go wrong so soon after right? Norman is reformed, Kingpin as far as he knows is keeping his hands clean. No super world ending events on the horizon...a patrol sounds nice.
