    It’s early June, and they’re at the mall.
    Everyone is still tense about BJ visiting the house, so they tend to hang out outside - with frequent documentation. Charles still wants her to hang out in the ‘Real World’ more, so they can’t go anywhere cool and abandoned today. BJ, at Lydia’s behest, still needs to build a more expansive wardrobe that makes him look a little bit less like the undead creep he is, so they need to go somewhere that suits him. The cool stores are all spread around the city over, but that’s too far away from home, and the mall is nice and close and safe, so they’re at the mall.

    To make a long story short, Adam’s not really sure why he’s drunk, scaling a ladder on the side of this building, following behind someone he finds extremely difficult. But he’s here all the same.
    As fueled by adrenaline as he is, the usual fear he might feel when he casts his gaze back down is instead replaced with nervous laughter. He’s scaling up the side of this building like a teen looking for trouble, not a grown man with an office job. Ahead of him, the clanging of metal ceases, and then a rough voice calls down to him.
    “Pick up the pace, Ads, you can’t stay on the rungs all night!” his coworker calls, and then with very little fanfare BJ pulls himself off the ladder, over the side, onto the roof.
