Summary

Months ago, I stumbled across the Steve Harrington/Dustin Henderson tag and asked myself what might bring them together. This story is my answer.
What was supposed to be a fun little one-shot turned into an exploration of love, sexuality, and intimacy.

Summary
After Steve and Dustin fight, something happens, and Steve wakes up on the side of the road in a very different Hawkins. Not only is the year here wrong, but no one knows who Steve is, and they certainly have never heard of any Hawkins laboratory.
Steve is going to need help from Dustin to get home, but the Dustin Henderson of this world has never met a Steve Harrington.

“Okay,” Eddie shrugged.
“Okay?”
“Okay, I’ll go out with you.”
“Really?” It was Steve’s turn to stare at Eddie with wide eyes.
“Sure. But pro tip, Harrington. Flowers? Really? What about me screams ‘give me flowers’?”
Steve chuckled awkwardly and made a mental note to tone down on the flowers as Eddie took them and tossed them onto the kitchen counter.
Or: Steve and Eddie have a tumultuous relationship and maybe Steve meets someone new.

Eddie laughs. “None of them hold a torch to you, big boy. I bet Nancy wouldn’t find having her body used as a meat puppet even slightly hot. Jonathan probably wouldn’t even like having someone living in his bones.”
Eddie comes back different. Steve is probably more into it than he should be.
