Summary
Est was used to the attention. It wasn't new to see people staring at him, so taken by what they saw that they even asked him out. They were just background characters, people destined to cross his path for two weeks and then vanish after he rejected them. He was the only main character in his story, until... a boy happened. Someone who changed the script, turned Est's world upside down, and carved out a space in his life: William Jakrapatr.
There could be only one reason for William to talk to Est, so... why did he act like Est’s thirst-traps didn't affect him? Why was he pretending not to be interested in him? And why was Est falling into William’s trap so easily?
Or: Est tries to thirst-trap William but gets rage-baited in the process and actually falls for him.

William is a man who treats the ocean like an eldritch horror. He distrusts sand and avoids seawater. He has absolutely no business being at the beach. And yet, every single afternoon, he arrives at the beach and insists he's only there to maximise his vitamin D exposure.
He is absolutely, one hundred per cent not there to stare at the pretty boy.
Est, the local celebrity lifeguard, definitely notices the handsome dentist tracking his shifts from beneath a ridiculous bucket hat. Or where Est mistakes blood feeding for an alarmingly active sex life and discovers two things: first, his supposed manwhore of a neighbor is actually just trying to survive in this failing economy; and second, maybe the screams weren't that exaggerated, maybe not.
