Summary
They say that when a person finds their soulmate, their Words turn from dull and translucent to bold and vivid with color, but not everyone is destined to even have another half. Many are born Wordless - no handwriting spelling out their soulmate’s first word or phrase directed at them on the inside of their right wrists, no matching pair somewhere else in the world.
As you push your way through the evening commute crowd, eager to get home as quickly as possible so that you can drown your sorrows in a bowl of cereal and ignore the pink slip burning a hole in your pocket, you suddenly wish you could be Wordless yourself. It sure as hell would be easier than finding someone whose first words to you are so generic that you’ve heard them a million times in your life already.
[In which Reader is fully convinced that the universe is playing some sort of cruel cosmic prank on her, and it all starts the moment her Words finally change color.]

Summary
“Did you know the other kids in town are going around saying that I’ll eat them now?”
“Will you?” Katara ventures warily, and Rin grins mischievously back at her.
“Sure, but I’d prefer them cooked first - I’m picky like that.”
Zuko laughs despite himself, and Rin looks pleased that her dark joke has landed even as Aang and Katara both raise their eyebrows at Zuko, visibly startled; he supposes it’s because he can probably count on one hand how often he’s laughed in front of them before.
[In which going to Hira'a to search for Zuko's mother results in the Gaang (plus Azula) encountering an odd young woman in town with unnatural ties to the spirits in the Forgetful Valley. She also makes Zuko smile a lot, which is just as unexpected.]

Summary
Lolha is a rare type of firebender from the Northern Kingdoms of the Fire Nation, forced into a marriage for political gain that none of them - not her family, her familiar or her husband ever expected or wanted.
Zuko is... Zuko. Pride stung from being forced into a marriage to a woman who clearly does not want him, he keeps his distance and does what he does best: brood.
But when a rebel faction threatens an ancient shrine Lolha's family has been protecting since before the Fire Nation was ever united, she knows she must return to her homeland - whether her husband approves or not.
Gaang shenanigans, forced proximity and a mystery to solve!
