“Jungle Pocket, Jungle Pocket wins the Derby!”
It was all a blur at first. She had done it… the Japan Derby.
When that trophy was handed to her before the winning concert, it was almost as if her dream was just sat in her palms. But… it wasn’t at the same time. She had defeated The Centurial Overlord, beat her rivals, and made Tanabe a Derby Trainer.
But… that hole, that dark Tachyon shaped hole was left empty. She hadn’t truly proved she was the strongest, there would always be someone in Japan that knew she wasn’t the strongest, that knew she didn’t beat her true rival.

She was so warm. So soft.
Ayabe couldn't imagine feeling this safe anywhere else.
Topro's tail swayed lazily, brushing against Ayabe every so often before finally curling around her thigh. It was just as soft as its owner.
Tears slipped silently down Ayabe's cheeks as the emotions she'd been holding back finally broke free. A moment later, an arm carefully wrapped around her waist, followed by the warmth of Topro's breath against her neck.
"Shh... it's okay. I'm here."
Ayabe's tail slowly intertwined with Topro's as she buried her face in their shared pillow.
