Summary
Sometimes Tony forgets about the Steve who was deathly ill all the time, the scrawny guy in the old photos, thin-faced and sickly but with the same hard, I-don’t-like-bullies look in his eyes. Maybe there’s something about that, growing up that way, that makes a guy acutely allergic to concern.
Maybe if you’ve grown up constantly knocking on death’s door, you aren’t all that phased when the door swings open.
Maybe Tony’s developing his empathy a little too much. This is uncomfortable. He misses being rich and powerful and isolated and not having to think about other people’s feelings.

The Avengers have a long hall flight from Malaysia to the US. It might just be the perfect time for Steve and Tony to work out exactly what is going on after the whole Ultron incident and discuss this unspoken thing between them. “Is this the one where we have to bake bread?” Mobius asks. “‘Cause it’s kinda hot out today for that.”
“No, it is not,” Loki half-scolds him. The way he says it makes it clear he’s gearing up for a lecture, so Mobius reaches for his body wash for him.

“Are you designing another one of those useless robots?” Ty scrunched his nose and sipped his water.
Tony paused in his rough sketch of what would be his next AI. The drawing was far more detailed than he had planned, but the cute, blond waiter (Steve) had given Tony extra napkins just in case, and Tony felt compelled to use all the napkins just to show his appreciation.
He might also have a small crush on Steve.
