It is a truth universally acknowledged, that Will Graham, owner of a house with a large forest as his backyard, needs dogs. And yes, it's true he has seven, but in his professional opinion, this number is still below double digits. As a man without a partner, children, siblings, or parents, he sees no problem in dedicating all his hard-earned money to spoiling his puppies.
Thus, the fucked up situation he finds himself in is directly related to that need: everything begins when he sees him: a mixed-breed dog, with a coat of mixed colors featuring brown, black, and white spots; ears that fold forward; and large, playful black eyes. The problem is that the adorable dog isn't a stray. He has an owner.
So, need gives way to plan, and Will will never regret pretending to be in a romantic relationship with Dr. Lecter. Yes, as you hear.

Summary
Steve is chosen to be a virgin sacrifice, despite not being a virgin, when Billy is raised nothing goes according to his captors plans.

"We summoned Satan?" Bret says, tone haughty and lilting up at the end, the knife covered in blood, Steve’s blood in his hand as he waves it around for emphasis and a few stray drops fling off adding to the blood still spilling out of Steve across the floor.
"No you summoned me. The dark lord doesn't get off his throne at the whims of vermin." The man says, taking his eyes off of Steve for the first time since he appeared to sneer at Bret. Then his eyes are right back on Steve and he is moving closer and Steve cannot do anything but kneel on the ground and bleed as he stares right back like he is in a trance. The demon kneels on one knee lowering himself to Steve hand reaching out and Steve stares at it looking for claws but all he finds is blunt well kept nails and then his cheek is being brushed, finger sliding down and curing around his chin gently tipping his face back up to meet the demon's eyes.
