    **Ryland’s POV**

    Simon has been on Erid for a few months now. Grace has finally warmed up to the ‘groveled, bloodied convict.’ Because the truth is… he’s not that. Simon is kind, gentle, smart, and handsome. Grace can’t remember the last time he had a crush on someone… on anyone, really. Did he have a crush on Simon? If he did, it would explain his… unholy thoughts. It would also explain his newfound confidence when approaching Simon. But Grace didn’t really care what label he slapped on his newfound feelings. Simon was hot; might as well, right?

    Grace could feel Simon’s breath on his lips. He wanted to lean in so bad. To just kiss that handsome face.
    They stayed there, not moving, not speaking. Grace’s cheeks burned; his breath shallowed. He knew Simon could see him blushing.

    Grace choked for the second time. He really should learn to stop sipping around Rocky. Simon froze in place, glaring over his shoulder at Rocky. And then at Grace, for taking too long to say no.

    “No way in hell,” Simon finally answered, eyes narrowed.

    “Is for science!” Rocky repeated, like that was supposed to mean something.
