Ryan's face stared back at him, a small smile appearing on his lips.
Except it wasn't Ryan.
Ryan had been found in a field on the outskirts of that small, shitty hellhole in Australia with his body beaten and bruised and one of his eyes gouged out. His head had been bashed in with a rock and his windpipe half crushed.
Ryan was dead. He had been dead for three years now.

Ryan could see the ragged skin of the gash beneath Naim’s chin, the blood still dripping freely onto his collarbones. A deep wine-purple was blooming at his brow. And Ryan had done this, the real Ryan.
