He’d been bathing in the river behind his cottage, the cozy home that his mate had made for them and their future family as his final courting offer. The omega hadn’t had the heart to move into another cottage when his mate had died, knowing that the pack already ostracized him as he was.

Update:
I have decided to turn off comments on my stories for personal, career, and mental reasons. I truly appreciate every kind word I have received, as well as the thoughtful comments that challenged me and opened conversations about my writing.
However, I want my writing to return to being something I do mostly for myself. I also no longer have the time or emotional space to read and reply properly, especially when some comments can be expressed in a way that feels unkind. For my own peace, I think it is better to close comments entirely.
Thank you for all the love, support, and time you have given my stories. I appreciate it deeply, and I hope to keep sharing in a way that feels healthy for me.

they stare at each other for an inordinate amount of time, it feels—that jeongguk with a tea cup in his hand and a massive white t-shirt on. and jeongguk had just assumed that if this was a dream, he would be the only jeongguk. and if this wasn’t a dream and he’d somehow ended up here for real, he would have switched places with himself or just turned up in the other’s place.
but. that’s clearly not the case.
“um,” says jeongguk, this jeongguk. “hello?”
and jeongguk—that jeongguk—screams.
