Everywhere her gaze landed on only furthered her panic—the passing clouds high up in the sky, the floor of the helicopter, the man next to her, or the man sitting in front. She’d closed her eyes, but she kept seeing horrors behind them, the reprieve taken from her each time. The gore, the bloodshed, the violence. The chase.
She was a nobody, but today made her feel differently, and she still could not understand why her out of anyone on the street.
