Ahead, C00lk1dd darted back and forth along the path, pretending a stick was a sword and battling invisible robots.
007n7 gave a small smile. “He’s going to crash hard tonight.”
“Yeah,” Shedlesky said. “We’re gonna have to peel him off the ceiling first.”

The late afternoon sun spilled across the living room, painting everything in warm gold. 007n7 sat on the couch, legs stretched out, shoulders relaxed for what felt like the first time all day. Shedletsky (his boyfriend of just a few weeks) was next to him.
A movie was playing, something neither of them was paying much attention to. 007n7 was too caught up in the feeling of Shedletsky’s fingers laced gently with his own. He smiled to himself.
Maybe, finally, things were starting to settle.
Then came the telltale sound of soft feet padding on the hardwood floor.
007n7 didn’t have to look to know who it was.
“Papa,” C00lk1dd said flatly, suddenly right beside them.
