“To the quarry and skull rock, whoopie do! Hate to break it to ya but those aren’t exactly dates.”
“I got you and your friends Metallica tickets. I’ve listened to rant for hours about your campaigns, is that not what boyfriends do? Was it all a joke to you? What we have is real Eddie, don’t throw this away. I love you, please.”
Eddie pulls farther away, laughing. It’s not the joyful and full laugh that Steve is used to. No, this laugh is deeper and tiresome.
“Wasn’t it? It not like it was going to last forever, y’know. Let's both, just move on. Yeah?” Eddie shrugs and stands. He gets up and leaves.

He should’ve known. He just didn’t understand why nobody seemed to want him. I mean, he had changed, right? Steve wasn’t the same asshole from high school, he’s tried so hard to become better yet nobody…nobody wants him. Yeah, he had Robin and the kids and the adults, but that was all platonic love. Nobody has ever wanted him romantically.
