    Forty, empty, tired and dying - that's how life finds Henry on one fateful stormy morning.
    He is about to give up, forgoing his incomplete revenge, welcoming death with open, albeit exhausted arms. He is too old for this crap now, and he killed all the big fish anyway.

    What luck then, that his last remaining target - Sir Hans Capon who had so horribly wronged the refugees - decides to show up and save his life on a pure whim. And maybe drag Henry to Rattay as well.
    With renewed will to live, Henry decides to finish what he had started twenty winters ago and stab that bastard the first chance he gets.

    … he just didn’t expect to have competition.

    When Ostwick is razed by Darkspawn, Henry survives only through the Grey Wardens' Joining. As the Free Marches buckle beneath the first stirrings of a Blight, he finds himself caught between duty, grief, and a future that suddenly seems much shorter than he imagined. And in searching for those things worth living for, Henry also finds someone worth dying for.

    This is a KCD/Dragon Age fusion that no one asked for. Something, something, be the change. :)

    The sake stings bitter on his tongue and down his throat; the warmth it leaves in his belly is overwhelming instead of comforting. Satomi is still working desperately to contain his coughs when he feels the warmth and weight of a hand at the back of his neck, squeezing gently.

    "Did y’know you blush all the way back here, too?" the man says, and suddenly his voice isn’t so warm and mysterious and unknown. Suddenly, it’s obnoxious. "It’s like a furnace. Real cute."

    Before Satomi can stop himself, he’s finally turning to look up at the man, absolutely incredulous, to find him looking down at him with the stupidest smile Satomi has seen in his entire fourteen years of life.

    Oka Satomi is married off to a lieutenant of the Matsuribayashi-gumi at fourteen years old. They have differing ideas of how the marriage is supposed to go.

    “I can’t do this. I can’t do this anymore.” Once again, fear washes over him. The pain he felt during the car crash and everything after, Satomi could manage, but this? Loving someone – loving Kyouji – was just too painful. The endless long nights he stayed wide awake, the countless daydreams he had with every free moment of his time, the bitter longing and anguishing yearning he had felt for years, Satomi might just die if he had to go through all of this again.

    I want to be happy. I want to be happy, but you make me so sad, Kyouji-san.

    The man that once made him so happy, has become the greatest source of sorrow in his life.

    Satomi knows that Kyouji doesn’t like him like that. What they have is something similar to friendship, and although he wants something more, he knows that it’s not going to happen. The months of no texting, few hours of getting food, and only a few words of comfort, it’s clear that Kyouji has drawn that line, and Satomi knows not to cross it anymore.

    What he doesn’t know is that Kyouji wants him more than anything.

He doesn't know how to handle this shit. And the woman who's making him feel a certain kind of way belongs with Rolf Hurd, his first and only friend.
    Thankfully Tempest and Veronica are on the same page about welcoming this wet cat of a man into their shared life.
    This story happens during canonical game events, although I've shifted some of them around in order to serve its momentum better.
