Summary
Following Heinrix's life-changing pledge, Alexandra wakes to find him gone, only to discover his Inquisitorial cape and rosette left as trophies—a complete surrender of his former life. On the bridge, she meets him, defiantly wearing his old cape as a shawl, and the two engage in a dangerous, intimate exchange that seals their bargain: Heinrix is an "enemy of the Imperium" who expects to be "used utterly" by his new master.
Consumed by their treason, they flee the bridge to a descending lift, where their control snaps, leading to a violent, public display of possession. Heinrix then drags Alexandra to the ship's Observation Dome, forcing their final, desperate union against the cold glass of the void, with the infinite darkness of the Koronus Expanse as the silent, cosmic witness to their glorious crime.

The retinue penetrates the central chamber to find Uralon the Cruel and the monstrously mutated Kunrad Voigtvir have activated a planetary drill. Amidst the chaos, Heinrix casts off his isolation, displaying flawless tactical unity with Alexandra to counter Kunrad’s psychic attacks. While Pasqal and Cassia sacrifice their safety to successfully halt the colossal drill, Alexandra pins the traitor and, in a fit of righteous fury, gouges out his corrupted third eye.
But victory is fleeting: Uralon brutally betrays Kunrad, sacrificing him to the Warp to manifest a towering Lord of Change. The terrified retinue, now forged into a singular fighting force by war and shared suffering, unleashes a final, devastating coordinated barrage to banish the Greater Daemon and secure the final, bloody victory.
