Faces once lost find themselves staring down the rest of their lives thanks to the reckless actions of a young man with eyes older than crones and madness on his tongue. Kings are crowned, oaths are given and plots of restoration are made.

    And over everything the Long Night looms.

    A story told in three acts. 30% Jaime hurt/comfort, 30% medieval socialism and 30% war. Plus that one horror chapter I’m actually pretty proud of. First time committing to a planned out epic length work, but I’m already in too deep to back out now. Wish me luck!

    At the name and the eyes accompanying it, Jim felt like he had been punched in the gut, all breath knocked out of him.

    Those familiar eyes looked at him, unrecognising.

    The softest brown infused with specks of green, as if they held the new spring growth inside. They were the forest floor and the gentle flowers, somewhere to rest and breathe. They were Jim’s childhood. Late night talks and Chinese take away in secret.

    The eyes of his older brother, George Samuel Kirk jr.

    After weeks of boredom, Jim was basically bouncing off the walls of the Enterprise. Finally they get a mission and suddenly he is faced with a ghost from his past.     When Larry got up in the middle of the night an decided to work on grading papers, he did not expect to find Ahkmenrah sitting in his living room, hands neatly folded in his lap as he looked at the TV in fascination. Once his initial shock was over, he approached “Ahk?” The former Egyptian king smiled at him “Larry! There you are, listen I need assistance.” Larry just talked right over him, panicking about him being away from the tablet and how early it was and how the sun would rise soon, if it hadn’t already, he just sighed and opened the blinds.

    Larry froze, expecting dust in his living room, only for Ahk to keep standing there, smiling. He crossed the room and put a hand on his wrist “This is what I needed to talk to you about.” It was then that Larry Daley, former night guard and guardian of Brooklyn, passed out on his living room floor.

    Billy Batson never really took much care in hiding his identity beyond just never alluding that he and Captain Marvel were one in the same. After all, no one's noticed him transform. Not even when he shouted SHAZAM right in front of the Justice League.

    Or I've been reading Golden Age comics and Billy just transforms in the wildest of situations and no one ever notices. People will literally have their hands on him and they won't notice. Other people need to bask in this absurdity.
