Summary
Brittle and battle-worn, Cas looks at him over coffee one morning and says, "I need to go," and Dean instantly knows that he's not coming back.
He's not really sure how he knows it, but he does. It settles into the pit of his stomach, curling hot and tight like something he instinctively wants to tear out with his bare hands. He takes a breath, and it gets stuck in his throat, hitching there. It hurts, hurts, hurts when he finally exhales.
"Yeah," Dean says, "of course you do," and he nods jerkily as he looks down at his phone. He doesn't say goodbye. He doesn't look up from the screen when Cas gets up and leaves the room. He doesn't finish his coffee, or move for a long time.
By nightfall, Cas is gone.

“Oliver.” I whisper.
And the years are worth it and the separation, to have this and to return and with one word cause love to bloom in your eyes, to see it seep into your face, to watch your lips part as a delicate and greedy need is fulfilled by one word and one word alone.
We would have been so happy together with just simplicity, love and understanding for company, wouldn't we? And that's all we have now, so…

Summary
The flour baby assignment was infamous, and always disrupted classes for at least a week while the current batch of ninth graders being shuffled through health class lugged around bags of flour with varying amounts of enthusiasm. The premise was that the teenagers would realize the trials of being teen parents. Dean figured that it just showed they were all unsuited to work at bakeries.

Summary
Stay away from the light-beds. Stay in the deep.
It is the first thing hatchlings are taught the moment their fans unfurl and they can swim without their parents to buoy them along. It is the first rule, the first law. It is the beginning of every boogey-monster bedtime story told when they settle against the cliffs to sleep.
Castiel should have listened better.

Summary
"I still don't understand why you won't tell me your costume," Dean grumbled. He eyed Cas' bare calves and feet, the only things visible from beneath his buttoned-down trench coat. "Oh, God, you're not goin' as a pedophile, are you? 'Cause that's --"
Cas interrupted him with an eloquent eye-roll. "No, Dean, I'm not a pedophile. Meg agreed to do my makeup, and I don't want anyone to see until it's complete."
"So mysterious," Dean mocked, and Cas shoved at him with his shoulder.
"You're the one who insisted we go to a costume party in the first place," he reminded Dean. "Don't blame me for playing along."
