Mike pants, “As if I have a choice.”
“With me, you always have a choice,” Will grabs Mike’s chin, forcing him to look him in the eye, “If you don’t want me, then I’ll find someone else for you.”
Will’s scent hits Mike like a ton of bricks, and if he was being honest, he wouldn’t mind smelling the scent of pine and petrichor for the rest of eternity.
Mike lets out a breath, and seals his fate, “No, I want you.”

Will’s attention sharpened. Mike could feel the microscopic shift in the air.
"What?" Will asked.
Mike let out a laugh. "You’re going to love this," he said, the words slurring ever so slightly, stumbling over their own weight. "She actually thinks—"
He broke off, forcing another laugh, pitching it lighter, brighter, like he was delivering a punchline.
"She thinks you’re in love with me."
The words didn’t land like a joke.
They didn’t land like anything funny at all.

“I don’t know how people can do that.” Jayce hadn’t meant to say it out loud, but now he had to answer Victor's curious, raised eyebrow. Clearing his throat, he clarified, “Sell themselves.”
Following his line of sight, Viktor noticed the brothel and laughed. “It is work, Jayce. Just like anything else.”
“I guess. But isn’t it kind of… violating?”
“Eh, not particularly.” Viktor shrugged. “No more than any other physical labor.”
A nervous laugh bubbled out of Jayce. “You sound like you’re talking from experience.”
Viktor halted, and Jayce had to curve his body to avoid crashing into him. Turning, Viktor gave him a long, indecipherable look and said, ”Perhaps I am. Would that matter to you?”

It wasn't even the first time they'd shared a bedroom. At training camps, it was often the case that several coaches would have to sleep in the same room, and it was fine. The only parts that were frustrating there were the mundane inconveniences like listening to other coaches snoring. It was extremely, totally normal. So normal that actually, it should be boring.
