    It had occurred to Dunk in those final moments that they would probably not recover his body, that he would be nought but ash by the time the fires were brought under control. But that thought had oddly comforted him in a way, that there would be no grand funeral for the Lord Commander who had failed.

    Failed to save more from the fire, failed to stop Aegon in the first place. Who knows, maybe his failure had even begun back in the hedges, maybe something he had done or not done had made Aegon the man who had done..this.

    He would do anything to go back and fix it, had been his last thought before the sensations shifted from heat to cold, from fire to waves, from pain to panic.

    or, dunk perishes in fire at summerhall and washes up on the sands of dragonstone. dragons still roam the skies, rhaenyra targaryen still lives and dunk quickly discovers he's not the only one lost in this time.

    It is said in the days after Paul Atreides was stolen away from Caladan that Duke Leto Atreides and the Lady Jessica bewailed that the Emperor had ever requested those of the Landsraad, all of the Great Houses, Major and Minor, to attend him at Kaitain, for it was there that Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen first saw their son and connived to have him. The Harkonnen's plan bore fruit three years later, when, after celebrations for Paul Atreides's coming of age, the heir to the storied and honorable House was kidnapped and brought to Giedi Prime, whereupon the na-baron declared him his husband and mate.

    Omegaverse AU. Plans within plans are destroyed when alpha Feyd kidnaps omega Paul with the intention of making him his husband.     The first time Paul Atreides ever lays eyes on Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, it is through a looking glass across a gladiator arena vast enough to swallow hundreds of thousands. Countless faces lie between them, mouths screaming, bodies chanting, while strange ink-blot fireworks split the bright, colourless sky. It is a whole world of noise and distance, but Feyd-Rautha’s eyes still find his.

    They have never met. Paul has never seen him before in his life.

    And yet, why is it that there is something so unnervingly familiar about him?

    OR, what if Paul and Feyd had met earlier, became obsessed with each other, and then had to learn the hard way that there is a huge machinery of politics and destiny around them, and love might not be enough.

    Canon divergent. Starts off light, but gets more complex, plot-heavy, psychological and darker. Some serious knives in this (eventually). Happy ending (like after a lot tho)
