When Damen had been told of the royal family of Vere, different stories by his tutors and other royalty that had visited Akielos in the past, he had imagined the younger son of King Aleron to be mousy, bookish, ugly even. He had heard he was meek, child-like — well he was a child, but none of them had described the boy as beautiful.
