And Ghost hates how much König loved him.
It was goddamn obvious.
His green eyes followed him everywhere. He trailed behind him- like a terrifying, giant shadow. König wanted Ghost. He’s trying to be with Ghost. But that’s a terrifying thought. He didn’t feel deserving of König at all. Ghost didn’t feel deserving of anyone. Not Johnny, not him.
They hear the door open- Soap stumbles out, hands locked behind some pretty young guy on the way for a hookup… Ghost’s eyes are on Soap. It feels like his gut is being stabbed.
Any tension between König and Ghost evaporated like someone poured ice water on their limbs. König stares after Soap too- and barely registers the words coming out of his mouth. Must be the liquor. “I’ll… never be him, will I? I’m just a handy… body for you. A stand in. Easily disposable if he came around.” König asks, his voice heavy.
Ghost looks at him and almost feels sorry. “Yeah… Yeah. You’ll never be him.”
Or
König shows up and invades every part of Ghost’s life and shows him everything he didn’t know he was missing. Stupid König.Series

Summary
The party has waned. Soldier, Zhanna, General, and Georgia have fallen asleep in a messy pile on the couch. Medic, Heavy, and Heavy’s mother (and Archimedes, and the baboon,) have all gone back to their hotel despite much protest, needing to wake up early tomorrow to catch a flight back to Siberia for New Year’s, which Heavy’s mother refuses to spend anywhere but home. Yana and Bronislava have gone out to explore Boston with strict instructions to be back at the hotel by morning. Sniper has been convinced to stay, and is talking quietly with Demo in the rec room in the basement, as to not wake Mrs. Degroot or Eyelander up, both of whom will have bad hangovers come morning. Engineer and Pyro are taking a breather in the backyard with Mancha, the dalmatian. And the other children-
“You’re supposed to be in bed, I think.” Spy chides. The little girl who has wandered out onto the porch rubs her eyes and grabs onto his pant leg.
