Summary

What started as suspicion soon softened into an unexpected intimacy.
Now, known to Jet as his Firelily, Zuko refuses to choose between the crown and the rebel. Driven by a new kind of fire, he intends to reclaim the birthright that discarded him and build a new world alongside the family that finally claimed him.

"Hey, you're Lee, right?" the person who looked like Jet asked. He blinked innocently, looking exactly as he had back then aboard the refugee ship.
"Strange. I feel like I've seen you before."
His gaze fell on the scar that stretched across Zuko's left eye. "It's pretty hard to miss. If I'd seen you before, I shouldn't have forgotten you."
He doesn't remember me.
His breath caught in his throat. He was suffocating. They had once lain on the same deck. During those moments of tenderness, Jet had held him close and promised that once they reached Ba Sing Se, they could leave together. They had once shared the same moonlight and the same breeze. Somehow, those things now belonged only to him.Zuko almost wanted to beg him. Please, don't do this to me.
"No. You're mistaken," Lee said softly in the end.
Every day after Jet was taken away, Zuko waited for the retribution he believed he deserved.
He had once been certain that if Jet was still alive, he would come back and kill him.
He was wrong. Jet had forgotten him.

Kiba chuckled, his smirk broadening with satisfaction as he leaned back just slightly, but his gaze lingered on Shino’s lips, unashamedly drawn to the faint movement there. Shino found himself mirroring the gesture, his gaze slipping to Kiba’s mouth in return, and in that brief silence, the air between them seemed to hum with an almost tangible tension. He felt his tongue wet his lips instinctively, and Kiba’s breath hitched—a subtle, nearly imperceptible sound, but one that Shino couldn’t ignore.
This would usually be the moment Kiba leaned in, catching him off-guard with a sudden kiss. Shino felt his pulse quicken in anticipation, preparing for that familiar touch.
But instead, Kiba shifted closer, and Shino blinked as Kiba’s breath brushed the shell of his ear, warm and close enough to send a faint shiver through him. “You know, that’s funny,” Kiba murmured, his voice low and laced with mischief, “'Cause I missed you.” Before Shino could react, he felt Kiba’s lips press softly just below his ear, the warmth of the touch lingering against his skin.
Friends with benefits get it on in a storage closet. How romantic.
