Summary
Vaerra had wept till she had no tears left many times in her life, the last was the day she stepped off the balcony of her room. The day after her husband had drank a glass of wildfire, the husband she never wanted to marry but loved anyways, despite his madness.
What a strange thing it was for her to wake up after, 15 years younger and in her bed. And how much stranger it was for her to see smoke rising from the dragon pit and Aerion without a hint of madness in his eyes.

Summary
"You said you wouldn't go back as long as Tybolt lived and now he's dead and you're still denying me."
"I'm not denying you!" Robin snapped. "The second I go back they will resent my acquaintance with a prince, and they will sabotage it."
"They don't have that power," he said, his pride stung at acquaintance, and let Robin's hand trace his cheek, down to his jaw.
"They do. And I will not compromise you by having you defend me," he said firmly, then smiled faintly. "I am a little like your knight, that way."
Aerion leaned down, far enough into Robin's space that the man seemed uneasy. "I will not return to Westeros without you," he said, "so eventually if you do not want to face the wrath of the royal family, you will just give me what I want."
Robin smiled faintly through the haze of their proximity. "Brat," he hummed.

Summary
Once, Aerion believed duty and honour were ideals to be embraced or discarded at pleasure. But after Ashford—after exile to Lys and his recall—he could no longer defy his father or his grandfather. In his absence, his future had been decided. He was to marry, and if he wished to remain in Westeros as a prince, he would honour the match made. What had his exile been, after all, if not a lesson in duty? No doubt intended by his uncle Baelor as the rehabilitation of his reputation, felt to Aerion like one last humiliation. He was not to wed an eligible cousin, but a northerner. A Manderly at that—not even a true Northman.
Jocelyn Manderly had lost her mother and three siblings within the span of two moons. Then came the news that she was to gain a husband. As though the promise of a mad Targaryen were some consolation prize her father could offer to make her grief disappear. As though gowns, jewels, and a prince could mend what death had taken.
“Truly, I am not afraid, my prince,” she repeated.
“And why is that?” he asked.
“Because I am empty. I have no spirit left within me to speak to happiness nor to comfort. You could cut me to the bone and I would feel nothing.”Bookmarked by K_senya
