Summary
Either by ignorance, inability to express oneself, or just plain denial, some things are hard to say. Lucifer and Alastor are no strangers to the many things they simply could never say.
"My, my, your Majesty," Alastor drawled. "If I didn't know any better, I'd almost believe you cared about me."
"If either of us cares about the other, I'm pretty sure it's you, Bambi." Lucifer chuckled, his sharp teeth flashing.
"Face it, your Majesty. Any care between us lies with you, so you might as well admit it," Alastor shrugged cavalierly.
So begins a battle of who can make the other admit they care.
A story exploring what Lucifer and Alastor could never say: I care about you, how irritating you are, why you drive me crazy, how much you mean, why you matter to me, why it has to be you, what I would do without you... I love you.
Following the season 2 battle, an enemies to friends to lovers slow burn where idiots fall in love but don't realize or know how to admit it. Featuring the dynamics of the Morningstar and Angel Dust's families, other ships and friendships explored, and a few surprise characters along the way. There will be angst and whump, but also love and laughter.

Alastor, as the truly altruistic being that he was, had helped avert the crisis for a small fee. Two deals broken, a fully healed staff, and the electrical thorn in his side removed for the price of bettering his standing in the princess's eyes and appearing to have somewhat of a heart.
He could have gone without the latter.
With that little stunt of his, the power-hungry demon lord had freed himself from years-long shackles. Riding out that high, he had no qualms about getting his hands just a tad bit more dirty, especially if the opportunity arose in the form of a pathetic King. And who was he to decline such a thing?
So when he saw the imbecile of a so-called Ruler crawl out of the rubble, lose his footing, and soon disappear with a snap of his fingers, wounded and alone, Alastor knew this was a chance unlike any other.
Or
Lucifer needs and Executioner and Alastor is insane enough to try his luck.
